Introduction
Kitab al Hind is a compilation of travel accounts written by the famous Persian scholar Al Biruni. Dr. Edward C. Sachau has written the English edition of that book named Al Baruni’s India. Here, we have given the Kannada translation of two chapters from that book. Chapter 18 gives an account of the country, the ocean, the distances and the boundaries of India. Chapter 68 talks about what is allowed and what is forbidden in India with regards to eating and drinking
